Examining a Specific Play - Accessing Well Cards, Play Schematics and Maps
This case study will focus in on a specific play. The example shows how to access individual well cards, as well as how to access the play schematic and map.

Question
What characteristics does the top Slavepoint-Cranberry Reef Play well exhibit? Also, what area does the Slavepoint-Cranberry Reef Play cover and what are the general mechanisms and stratigraphy behind the play?

Step 1 - Specify the Search Parameters
From the search screen, in the Play Type search box, select the Slave Point - Cranberry Reef Platform from either of the dropdown menus. (One menu is sorted alphabetically and the other is sorted stratigraphically.)



Step 2 - Execute the Search
To perform the search, check the execute box located above the search screen.

When the execution is complete, the number of records found will appear in the Records Found box. (Please note: The number of records found will vary depending on which EDGE release you are using.)

Step 3 - Determine the Top Well in Terms of Production
Select (click on) the tab.

From the Producing Zones menu, select the text box to display the sort options.

Select IP Gas. (The Slave Point - Cranberry Reef Platform is a gas play.)

The list will re-sort all wells from highest to lowest initial production. Note that initial production for the top well was over 50,000 mcf/d.

Step 4 - Access the Well Card for the Top Well (in terms of IP)
Select (click on) the top well Well Name to access the well card.

The well card will appear in a new window.

The menu accros the top provides a variety of options.

Use the forward and back keys to browse between well cards.

Select (click on) the button to go to the play map. This will show the play boundaries, major edges, well distribution and other relevant geological and drilling details.

Select (click on) the button to go to the play schematic. This will show the relevant formations and illustrate the mechanisms at play.

The menu also provides a means to print and to exit the well card dialogue.
