Comparing Two Operators - Creating Summaries
This example shows how to generate summary statistical tables in order to effectively compare two operators. Summary tables can also be used for year-by-year, producing zone and play comparison. They provide an effective way to compare and contrast statistics in order to better understand differing results, anomalies and trends.
Question
Flagship Energy Inc. and Pilot Energy Inc. are two random operators active in some of the same areas. How do their strategies, activities and results compare?
Step 1 - Specify the Search Parameters
From the search screen, in the General Information search box, select Flagship Energy Inc. from the dropdown menu.
Now create a second record by clicking on the multiple box. This will create a second blank record.
For the second record, in the General Information search box, select Pilot Energy Ltd.
Step 3 - Execute the Search
To perform the search, check the execute box located above the search screen.
When the execution is complete, the number of records found will appear in the Records Found box. (Please note: The number of records found will vary depending on which EDGE release you are using.)
Step 4 - Generate an Operator Summary
Select (click on) the  tab.
The Operators list view will appear, along with a set of menu items across the top.
Select (click) on the summary check box to create a summary report.
The summary report will load, providing a set of statistical tables for each of the two operators. To toggle between sets, use the forward and back arrows provided in the menu across the top.
You can now compare and contrast completion results, production history, rates & reserves and drilling costs between operators.
