Screening an Area - The EDGE Instant Report
This example shows how to perform a simple search and generate an Instant Report.

Question
Southwestern Saskatchewan has seen widespread activity over the past few years. What activity has taken place in Townships 1-10, Ranges 20-32W3M?

Step 1 - Specify the Search Parameters
Go to the search screen and locate the Well Location search box, situated on the top left side of the screen. Enter the search criteria as shown below:

Note the ... used to specify range. This was taken from the symbol look up table below, which is assessed through the symbols menu ( ) which appears to the left of the search screen.

The correct entry format is specified with an example directly below each entry box.

Step 2 - Execute the Search
To perform the search, check the execute box located above the search screen.

When the execution is complete, the number of records found will appear in the Records Found box. It is a good idea to do a quick check to see if this number is reasonable. If it is not, there is a good chance a data entry error was made. (Please note: The number of records found will vary depending on which EDGE release you are using.)

Step 3 - Generate an EDGE Instant Report
Select (click on) the tab.

An hour glass will appear, indicating that the EDGE is churning through the entire data set to dynamically generate a customized report. When the process is complete, the hour glass will disappear.

Step 4 - View Report Results
Page one of the Instant Report provides an overview of well statistics, class and status. The following pages cover play activity, production, operators and trends.

To move from page to page use the NEXT and BACK buttons, located at the top of the screen (where applicable). To close the Instant Report, select EXIT. This will take you to the Play Type list view, where you can return to the Search Screen or perform in-depth searches.

At any time, you can also print the report or save it to PDF. Before doing so, enter a Report Name in the text box provided. It is a good idea to identify your search parameters as part of the title, i.e. Activity Report for T1-10, R20-32W3M.
