EDGE Updates and Improvements

Every quarter, Canadian Discovery Ltd. inputs all new wells released from confidential status. In addition, operators are updated to reflect mergers, acquisitions and new entrants. Additional improvements are described below, with links to the EDGE Help Files provided where appropriate.

Q1 2008 - New this Quarter

All Data to December 31, 2007
The Q1 2008 EDGE release features data to December 31, 2007 for Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia (7,987 well events added).

New Regional Maps!
New regional play maps, provided a breakdown of play are boundaries, are now provided in PDF format. See Play Maps.

Q4 2007 - New this Quarter
The Q4 2007 EDGE release features data to September 30, 2007 for Manitoba, Saskatchewan and British Columbia, and to October 31, 2007 for Alberta (15,414 well events added).

Improved Cost Analysis
Our new costing methodologies provide a more accurate estimation of drilling and completion (D&C) and drilling and abandonment (D&A) costs. Adjustments are made for fluid type (oil or gas), directional drilling, secondary/subsequent events and new technology. See Cost Data.

Updated Play Boundaries
Upon completion of our annual GIS-based review, play boundaries have been updated to reflect recent drilling and new information.

30 New Maps
New maps, as well as regional play maps, are provided for the Jean Marie, Keg River, Beaverhill Lake, Belly River and many other plays. All maps are now available in PDF format. See Play Maps.

Q3 2007 - New this Quarter
The Q3 2007 EDGE release features data to June 30, 2007 (7,376 well events added).

Producing Zone and Play Refinements
A historical review of producing zone and play assignments was undertaken to improve data quality. Search and sort functions were optimized to refine age and stratigraphic equivalent sorts and searches.

Location Searches Simplified
When searching by well location, either by township or quad, leading zeros are no longer required.

Coming Soon! Refined Economics
The Q4 2007 will feature refined economics and improved costing. Our methodologies are currently being revised. Contact EDGE@canadiandiscovery.com for more information or to provide input.

Q2 2007 - New this Quarter
The Q2 2007 EDGE release features data to March 31, 2007 (10,143 well events added). A number of new and exciting features are being launched with this release, including:

Canadian Discovery Producing Zone Assignments
In order to improve the quality and consistency of EDGE data, Canadian Discovery has begun verifying producing zones in-house and correcting or modifying when necessary. This added step works to eliminate errors and improve consistency, resulting in better data, more accurate calculations and improved overall results. See Well and Production Data.

Objective and Producing Play Assignments
Every well event is now assigned to both an Objective Play and a Producing Play, and a toggle button is provided to move between the two. For information see Play Assignments.

Yearly Change in Production Rate Graphs
These graphs, provided for both oil and gas, show the yearly change (decline) in production rates. The graphs provide insights into the long term feasibility of sustained production, the distribution of corporate holding from a long term production perspective, and the impact of new technologies, new completion practices and changes in operational practices.
