Simple Searches

Once all search parameters have been entered into the Search Screen boxes, the search is ready for execution. To do so, select (click on) the execute button.

Identifies and gathers all well events in the database that meet the search criteria.

Once the search has been successfully completed, the number of well events that meet the search criteria will appear in the Records Found box located in the Search Menu. (The first well event will also appear in the Search Screen, See Browsing Records.)

At this time, it is a good idea to verify that the number of records found seems reasonable. For example, an Alberta-wide search for a five-year period should yield a large number of records and a localized search in a relatively unexplored area should yield few records. If this is not the case, a data entry error has likely been made.

To modify or verify a search that has already been executed, select (click on) the modify button.

Retains past input in order to build upon an existing search.

The search screen will revert to the search criteria which can now be edited.

Alternatively, to create a blank slate and begin an entirely new search, select (click on) the new button.

Cleans past input in order to build upon an already existing search.

Selecting will have the same result.

Once the execution is complete, and the search has been verified, choose between the EDGE Instant Report, Play Types, Producing Zones, Operators and Trends tabs to investigate the results of your search.
