Mackenzie Delta/Beaufort Sea, NWT
In the Mackenzie Delta this winter, MGM Energy operated three wells on Chevron/BP farm-in lands, acquired 2D and 3D seismic, and was granted one exploration licence. In the deep Beaufort Sea, industry purchased large land tracts through bids totalling $1.2 billion.

Yukon: Update
Exploration focus is presently on the northern portion of the territory. A permit was awarded to AustroCan Petroleum in the fall of 2007 in the Peel Plateau Basin. The company is planning some reconnaissance work in the spring of 2008. Northern Yukon gas discoveries will only be viable if the Mackenzie Valley pipeline is built.
