Public agencies fulfill a variety of critical roles across the energy sector: regulation, advocacy, education and training, public engagement, co-ordination, research and development. As recognized world-experts in numerous technical niches, Canadian Discovery Ltd. is proud to have been involved in a variety of publicly-funded research projects, industry initiatives and collaborative undertakings.
Some of the work in which we have been involved includes:
- Western Canadian Atlases and Strategic Reports - Through its predecessor, Rakhit Petroleum Consulting Ltd., CDL developed several basin-scale reference atlases to serve as reference tools for industry: the Hydrogeologic Atlas of Western Canada, the Hydrocarbon Chemistry Atlas of Western Canada, the Water Resistivity Atlas of Western Canada and the Strategy reports.
- CO2 Sequestration and Aquifer Characterization - We have characterized aquifer hydrogeology, deliverability, and resource and storage properties for several entities, including Geosciences BC.
- Geoscience Consulting - We have conducted specialized geoscience projects for agencies as diverse as the Montney Basin Producers Group, the Bureau of Indian Affairs (US), the Peru Energy Regulatory Assistance Project (PERAP) and the Canadian Petroleum Institute (CPI).
- Products - Numerous agencies subscribe to our products, or provide services in lieu, in order to track industry activity and access our enormous and ever-growing library of technical reviews.
On the educational and research fronts, CDL supports the widespread dissemination and sharing of technical work. We regularly provide workshops at local and regional universities and colleges and have, on many occasions, provided free access to our products and studies for educational and research purposes.
